I have an interest in physics so I bought these Sauna Pants to see how well they worked. As far as I can see the principle is quite simple. The inside of the material has a coating which stops air from passing through the garment. There are also loops at the bottom of the legs to stop air circulation, So there you are in an airtight garment with trapped air around you. Your body heats up the trapped air which then keeps you warm. So does it work? Reasonably well. I was wearing heavy track pants and changed to the Sauna Pants on a coldish Perth evening. The Sauna Pants are much lower weight material than the track pants. I still feel reasonably warm but not quite as warm as in the track pants.
