FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What should I wear to warm up for ballet?
Layer leg warmers, sauna garments, and maybe a shawl over your leotard at the start of class. Remove layers as your body warms up through barre work. Many dancers keep a shawl or knitwear piece nearby for breaks between exercises.
What is a ballet wrap top?
A ballet wrap top is a crossover-style layering piece that ties at the waist or side. It covers the torso and arms while allowing full range of movement. Wrap tops are popular because they're easy to put on and remove quickly between exercises.
Can I wear warm-ups during the entire ballet class?
In most cases you will remove warm-up layers once you're warmed up, so your alignment and technique are clearly visible. However, keeping leg warmers on throughout class is common especially during slower exercises.
